    "Mrs. Lucy Miller Beach, widow of Dr. William M. Beach, died Friday morning, April 21, at 1 o'clock, at the home of her sister, Mrs. W. E. Minor, 5556 Black street, Pittsburgh. She had been ill for several months with heart trouble. Mrs. Beach was a daughter of Dr. A. B. Miller and Margaret Bell Miller, deceased, and was born and spent her early life in Waynesburg. She was aged 75 years. After her marriage to Dr. Beach she had resided in Pittsburgh. Her parents were prominently connected with Waynesburg College. Her father was president of the institution for almost half a century, and her mother taught in the college for a number of years. Both were deeply interested in education and the welfare of the community. The Waynesburg High school was named for Mrs. Miller. Mrs. Beach was a former student in Waynesburg College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church, North Side, Pittsburgh, and for many years was vice president of the Woman's Home Missionary Society of the Pittsburgh Presbytery. She leaves one sister, Mrs. W. E. Minor, of Pittsburgh, and a brother, Alfred T. Miller, a teacher in the Waynesburg High school. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, conducted by Dr. Bryson and Dr. Fisher. Interment was made in Uniondale, No. 3 cemetery, N. S. Pittsburgh."

    Lucy married Beach, Dr. William Mulholland on 28 Jun 1882. William (son of Beach, Samuel Oliver and Mulholland, Anna Elizabeth) was born on 15 Sep 1859 in Sandy Lake, Mercer Co., PA; died on 23 Oct 1930 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA; was buried in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA.
