Robert, son of Nathan resided in Kenoza Lake and, following the habit of his father, became a prominent land holder. He married Margaret Stewart who comes from the celebrated family tracing back to the royal Stewarts of England. The descendants of Margaret and Robert are qualified for membership in the Society "Americans of Royalty Descent".

Robert married Stewart, Mary Ellen in Hurds Settlement. Mary was born in 1811; died on 09 Mar 1879; was buried in Kenoza Lake, Sullivan Co., NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Nathan left VT as a young man and became a sea Captain plying between America and European coasts. He was a captive of the English during the war of 1812. In 1827 he and the Stewart Family appeared in the vicinity of Pikes Pond, now Kenoza Lake, NY. He acquired a considerable amount of landed property, died in that region, raised a large family and was a prominent citizen. His family has multiplied numerously, remained in the district, and now constitute a large part of the representative population of that place. A later branch of that family moved into Michigan

He was a Mason in New York City in 1802

Notes:

The first record found relative to Jude Moulthrop is that of his marriage, in Southbury, CT, to Betsey Wheeler, daughter of Obadiah Wheeler.
Obadiah Wheeler was an extensive land owner in the Colonies and in VT. Jude Moulthrop sold his CT properties after his marriage and moved to Rutland, VT, doubtless to that region by the Wheeler interests. Soon after his arrival he purchased a farm from the Osgood family, where he died in 1800.
His descendants have continued in that region and the old properties are said to be still in the family.
Through Betsey Wheeler the Moulthrops brought the blood of the dignified families of Tuttle and Howe to the family of Jude and through Tuttle and Howe ancestors the issue of Jude and their ancestors are eligible to the Society of Sons of The Revolution, Colonial Dames and the Colonial Wars. Jude Moulthrop fought in the American Revolution and was a prisoner in Boston, September 30, 1778

Jude married Wheeler, Betsey on 30 Jul 1777. Betsey was born on 01 Jan 1755 in Southbury, New Haven Co., CT; died on 16 Aug 1842 in Rutland, Rutland Co., VT; was buried in Rutland, Rutland Co., VT. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
