Youngstown Slovak News, Youngstown, Ohio, 27 July 1934, p. 4, col. 3.

My best effort at translation:
Well known Slovak, Stefan Rakocy lifted his youthful status and shifted him to marital status on Tuesday, 10 July. He swore the loyalty of marriage with Mariou Jakubec daughter of Joseph and Katariny Jakubec of Steelton in the church ???? ???? Jesus. Married by their Rev. Stefan Kocis at the vast mass. Older bridesmaid was Maria Rakocy of Baltimore, Md., sister of the young man. Elderly groomsman was Ondrej Kuzak. ???? ??? miss Margita Rakocy, Karolina Jacob and Anna Furek. Groomsman Jozef Sulej, Jan Bernat and Edward Jakubec. After the marriage was lunch, which was organized by the parents of the young bride in their house. After lunch, the wedding party went to the snooker and so they were together until 7 pm. Then there was a Sunday dinner in the house of Mr. Jakubca, in which opportunities were the second pair engaged. Wedding guests and the young lover’s parents were very surprised when Ms Anna Stanislav, sister of the young bride told everyone that Miss Maria Rakocy and Jozef Rohovsky are getting engaged and their joy to be the beginning. Wedding guests and parents rewarded them with great applause. And so the young married couples chose a wedding trip from which they return to settle in the parents' home of the young bride in Steelton. So we wish them many health and divine blessings in their future life, and as the old man tells us that in the year of the prophet.

Dear Editor, Please advise me to publish these few lines in which I wish to describe the death of my cousin, Marie Rakocy, who went into convalescence on December 17, 1924, at the Springfield Lake Sanitarium after a long illness of dryness. From there she was taken by our Slavic undertaker, Mr. J. G. Vascak, to his room where she was prepared for burial and brought the next day to my home at 1061 Shady run road. The burial was on Saturday, 20 December, for the very first time at the house of mourning and so at St. Matthias Church. The funeral services were conducted by our clergyman Rev. Frantisek Kozelek who also said a beautiful and touching sermon over her casket. For this I thank him very much and I also thank Mrs. Anne Kundus for her Godly work which she showed to the deceased and collected $8.40 for flowers. To all the carers who contributed to this collection, God will pay a hundredfold. I also thank the ladies of the St. Alzbeta c 161st Society for attending her funeral and paying their last respects to her in such a beautiful poem. Into that number even the heaven was listening. I also thank all the relatives who came to see her off to her motherland and those who carried her coffin for not sparing the few hours they had to work. Their names are as follows: Jozef Fedorcak, Martin Basista, Jan Pavuk, Juraj Stanislav, Stefan Lipka and Jozef Kece. Her remains were buried for eternal rest in the cemetery of Kalvaria. May she rest in holy repose, and may the gracious God send her sorrowful mother, three brothers and three sisters in her arms. She was born in Seacavnik, Spain 28 years ago and came to America 12 years ago and was only in our town until her illness.

With a greeting to all.

Stefan Rakocy, her cousin.
