1924-2013 Barbara R. (Worthington) Jolin 88, of 25 Lincoln Dr. Clarksburg and formerly of Williamstown died Monday September 16, 2013 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in North Adams on December 30, 1924 a daughter of the late Alfred Worthington and Runnette (Holt) Worthington Nicklien and stepdaughter to Frank Nicklien. She graduated from Williamstown High School in 1942. She was employed for many years at the former Williamstown National Bank on Spring St. for many years. She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband Rolland A. "Babe" Jolin whom she married August 21, 1943 died June 5, 1972. Survivors include her twin daughters Diane Chenail and her husband Larry of Florida,MA. and Donna Estes and her husband John of Clarksburg. Four loving grandchildren Rachel Leary, Deron Estes, Brett Chenail and Amy Cyr. Eight great grandchildren two sisters Dorothy Damon and Ruby Roberge and a brother Gerard Nicklien. She was predeceased by a brother Aaron Worthington. Private graveside services will take place Wednesday at the family plot in Westlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA. Memorial Donations are suggested for the Jimmy Fund through the funeral home.

175 Betty Rose Harmuth was born 17 September 1931 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She was the first child of Frank Harmuth, Jr (1912-1981) and Elizabeth A (nna) Wagner (1911-1977). Betty had two siblings, Evelyn Anna (1932-) and Robert Franklin (1935-). Betty graduated from the local high school and received her Registered Nurses training at Reading Hospital, Reading, Pennsylvania, graduating about 1951.

After working as a registered Nurse for a number of years, Betty entered the University of Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1959. In 1960 Betty entered Rutgers University from which she received, in June 1961, her Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Clinical Specialist in Psychiatry. She was unable to attend graduation because the birth of Jesse III was imminant. After the birth of her children, Betty never practiced nursing.

In 1985, with her husband, Betty started Newsom Seed Inc. at Rockville, Maryland, a wholesaler of grass seed and related items. Betty was President and major stockholder of Newsom Seed until her untimely death from lung cancer in May 1991.

Mrs. Nathan Hontz, one of Greater Lehighton's excellent aged ladies, happily celebrated her 71st birthday anniversary on Tuesday. There was a grand feast to which the guests did the very fullest justice. The Evening Leader hopes the venerable lady may live to celebrate many more such happy events. Those present were: Nathan Hontz, Charles Frantz and family, L. A. Shoemaker and family, Henry P. Hontz and family, Edwin Hontz and family, Walter Hontz and family, of town, and Mrs. H. Melher, of Mauch Chunk.

Mrs. Nathan Hontz Died This Morning.
After Illness Due to Old Age Mrs. Hontz Passes Away.
Mrs. Nathan Hontz died at four o'clock this morning after an illness of several months with general debility due to all age. Deceased was born in Lower Towamensing Township, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Walck, she was aged 74 years, 11 months and six days. Besides her aged husband the following grown up children survive: Mrs. Henry Miller, of Mauch Chunk; George Hontz, of California; Mrs. Ed Kauffman, of Allentown; Mrs. Lanious Shoemaker, Ed J. Hontz, Mrs. Charles Frantz, Henry Hontz, and Walter Hontz, of this city. Deceased was one of the oldest and most respected ladies in this city and had many friends who will greatly miss her.
The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at one o'clock with services at the house, Rev. D. A. Winter, pastor of Zion's Reformed church, will officiate at the last sad rites. Interment will be made in Gnauden Huetten cemetery. The Evening Leader tenders sympathy to the afflicted husband and children.

All Around The Town. The funeral of Carrie, the 17 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Hontz, North Fourth street, took place at two o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Services were held in the Reformed church and were largely attended. Rev. J. Alvin Reber officiated. Deceased was ill but a few days with heart trouble. A large circle of friends mourn her early demise.

Compressed Chronology Of Lehighton Doings. Mrs. Mary, wife of Wilson Hontz, died early
Tuesday morning, aged fifty-nine years. She suffered from rheumatism and this affected her
heart. She was only ill a few hours before the end came. Deceased was a good mother and
seldom left her home to which she was greatly attached. Besides her husband she is survived by
five sons and three daughters, viz: James Hontz, of Allentown; Al. Hontz, Minneapolis; Mrs.
Henry Deibert, of Slatington; William, Thomas, Harry and Misses Alice and Sadie, of town.
The funeral took place from the family residence on North Third street yesterday and was largely
attended. Rev. Winter had charge of the services. Interment was made in the Gnaden Heutten
Cemetery
