• Notes

  Nathan left VT as a young man and became a sea Captain plying between America and European coasts. He was a captive of the English during the war of 1812. In 1827 he and the Stewart Family appeared in the vicinity of Pikes Pond, now Kenoza Lake, NY. He acquired a considerable amount of landed property, died in that region, raised a large family and was a prominent citizen. His family has multiplied numerously, remained in the district, and now constitute a large part of the representative population of that place. A later branch of that family moved into Michigan He was a Mason in New York City in 1802
