    • Notes for STEPHEN WHITEHEAD BEACH:
      The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. III, No. 3, pp. 280-281, says he died c. 1847, but his gravestone at Irwin Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, gives the date above, with his age at death being 78 years, 3 months and 5 days. An account of his migration from New Jersey to Pennyslvania appears in Bell, HISTORY OF VENANGO COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, Brown, Runk & Co., Chicago, 1890, at pp. 957-958. His middle name is sometimes given as Whited.

      On the 1860 Census; Albert Beach is listed as residing with Stephen and Sarah. Albert's age is listed as 9.

      The following is from the Venango Spectator dated June 7, 1865
      BEACH, Mr Stephen, aged 78 years, died on May 28, in Irwin twp. Mr Beach was a native of New Jersey, and emigrated to Venango Co., some 50 years ago. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
