    The first of the family of Strohl of which anything definite has been obtained is the appointment of Peter Strohl as constable of Towamensing in 1764. On the 30th of October 1765, Peter Strohl took out a warrant for two hundred and forty-six acres of land, now owned by Reuben Ziegenfuss, Oscar Kern, Jeremiah Kern, Levi Straub, Wilson Mushlitz, John Craig, and the congregation of St. John’s Lutheran and German Reformed Church. In 1781, the names of Peter, Michael, Elizabeth, and Daniel Strohl appear on the assessment roll as owning real estate. Nicholas Strohl, who died in 1875, at seventy-four years of age, was the father of thirty children, twenty-three of whom were living at the time.

    The Stroller At Weissport. Daniel Walck, of Pine Run, was buried in the Big Creek cemetery one day recently. Deceased was aged eighty-two years; for more than a score of years he had been a victim of rheumatic pains and his death was a just release from the sufferings of this world. May his bones rest in peace.

    Interesting Things That Are Said And Done In Lehighton. The funeral of Simon Walck, who died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Lafayette Strohl, South Second street, was held Monday morning. Deceased was aged 84 years and 6 months and general debility was the cause of his demise. For many years he conducted a farm at Indian Ridge, Franklin township and was well known as a huckster. He is survived by these children: Mrs. Strohl, Mrs. Amandus Solt, Mrs. Jacob Arner, Mrs. William Leuckel and William Walck, all of Franklin, besides his aged widow. The funeral was largely attended and was in charge of Revs. E. P. Xander, of Weissport, and J. H. Kuder, of town. Interment was made in the North Weissport Cemetery.
