Cecil Franklin Bowen
Mr. Cecil Franklin Bowen, 91, of Burnettown, SC, beloved husband of seventy-one years to Mrs. Sarah Nell Hess Bowen, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
Born in Riddleville, GA, to Mr. and Mrs. Durham Bowen, he had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life. One of the few members left of "the Greatest Generation", he was a World War II Veteran, who proudly and with honor, served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church and had formerly served as a Deacon for many years. He retired from Seminole Mills. Following his retirement from Seminole, he went to work for his son, Ricky, at Bowen Auto Parts. Mr. Cecil was an avid Gamecocks fan and wanted to see them win a National Championship.
In addition to wife and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Ricky and Patricia "Tricia" Bowen, Graniteville, SC and Gail and Rev. Robert "Bobby" Eubanks, Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Brian "Bree" Redd, Patrick Bowen, Scott and Erica Eubanks and Melissa and Samuel Kilgore, as well as eleven grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Friday, August 3, 2018, beginning at 1 o'clock at Clearwater First Baptist Church, Clearwater, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert "Bobby" Eubanks and Rev. Daniel Settle, will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the veterans cause of your choice.
